Gearford tried to make Silas hard. Cold, bitter, closed off, like the machines. It almost worked. But somewhere in the smoke and grief, he made a choice: he could survive all of it and still be gentle with the people who needed him. That's the hardest thing he's ever done.

On the front, a tender Silas holds a small light under graffiti-style lettering: SOFT ISN'T WEAK. SOFT IS EARNED. Across the back, bold against a dark block: STRENGTH LEARNED HOW TO STAY GENTLE.

For survivors who didn't let it harden them, gentle dads, soft-hearted fighters, and anyone who chose kindness when bitterness would have been easier.
